Mooostly finished red mage Viera that I wore to ALA 2013! It's missing a detail or two (as are most of my costumes...sigh!) but done enough that I decided to wear it two days in a row, which is very unusual for me. I ended up really, really liking this costume, and it ignited the cosplay spark in me that's been out for quite some time. I actually bought fabric for this costume years ago, hoping for the chance to make it, and was ecstatic when a friend began a FFTA group for ALA. The main fabric is microsuede; I wanted it to have a more interesting texture than your standard cotton. I found the fur for the ears at a local fabric store. This was my first time fiddling with upright ears and witch hats, and while some of the actual costume-making got a little touch-and-go, ultimately I managed to piece it all together and it needs very little post-con adjustment.
